A – Z Blogging Challenge, Raising Boys: The Penis Chronicles presents the Letter X for X words

XThe first x-word that comes to mind when I think of the boys is x-ray for X-Ray Vision. If you have been following my previous A to Z posts it will probably seem a logical progression: super heroes, super powers, weapons, occupation, and strange games. The second X that comes to mind is XO for “Huggy & Kissie” which is my younger son’s request at bedtime or before closing the door of the truck. However, that hardly seems enough for the letter x and the boys. With that said here a few other interesting x words that made me think of the boys in some way:

Xenial – “of, relating to, or constituting hospitality or relations between host and guest and especially among the ancient Greeks between persons of different cities” (merriam-webster.com/dictionary on March 4, 2017)

Xenodochial – “From Greek meaning ‘friendly to strangers,’ xenodochial is a highly intellectual-sounding word for “friendly.” (yourdictionary.com March 4, 2017)

Xenophile – “one attracted to foreign things (such as styles or people)” (merriam-webster.com/dictionary on March 4, 2017)

Xiexie – “1. A Chinese term meaning ‘thank you’ / 2. The answer to everything, literally.” (urbandictionary.com March 4, 2017)

  1. Lovely way to handle the dreaded X post. I’ve been browsing through your posts, since you visited mine a few letters ago. So fun! And insightful, too. My son is 52, now, so I have to dig way back for those boy memories. We went camping when I was struggling to potty train him, and my husband took him into the woods to pee against a tree. He thought it was so much fun, by the end of the week he was staying dry all the time. Then we went home – where the trees were in the front yard.
