Coffee & the Virtual Pantry

What snacks go well with coffee?

  • Mini bakes donuts with vanilla glaze
  • Cinnamon rolls
  • A nice slice of coffee cake
  • Plain croissant
  • Crepes
  • Dark chocolate
  • Something caramel
  • Tiramisu
  • Berries
  • Scrambled eggs and toast
  • Maybe a couple of oatmeal raison cookies

Coffee is almost always better with a bite to eat. So, let me open the virtual pantry and see what we can find.

If we were having coffee I would thank you all for the lovely birthday wishes. I would share with you that on Monday past my younger son cooked me a breakfast of chocolate chip pancakes. They were tasty. We did a cupcake happy birthday and singing which was fun. The boys got me a 2000 piece puzzle. I have not done a puzzle that big and I am excited to start it but I am in the middle of another one still.

If we were having coffee I would share the flavours of coffee that I have tasted over the course of the last few weeks: Java Factory Roaster flyn’ Hawaiin macadamia nut + white chocolate kona style, Friendly’s chocolate marshmallow swirl ice cream, Friendly’s Vienna mocha chunk ice cream, Friendly’s mint chocolate chip ice cream, Brooklyn Bean Roastery coco mocha coconut chocolate, Hamilton Mills toasted cinnamon, Hamilton Mills coffee mocha swirl and Sundae Coffee butter pecan. I have enjoyed trying these wild flavoured coffees so I ordered a new round of mixed flavoured coffees. I can‘t wait to see and taste this new round.

If we were having coffee I would ask if you remember me mentioning that puzzle that was such poor quality that I couldn’t even put it together. Well, I started making my Christmas cards from it and I am pleased with how they are looking.

If we were having coffee I would pass you the coffee pot to indicate that I am eager to hear how your week was.

  1. I always have to eat with my coffee as my stomach can’t take coffee alone! Your list is great, cinnamon rolls sound yummy. You are so creative!!! Love the puzzle reindeers, what a great way to use the worthless puzzle! 😀 Enjoy your weekend! ❤️

  2. So Shari – it sounds like you did find a happy compromise with coffee after all. And about that poor quality puzzle, you make me sorry I did not think of something this cool to do with the one I had which was missing one piece. I was mostly just plain annoyed with that one. After all the time I spent putting it together, I just wanted the satisfaction of dropping in the final piece. I even toyed with finding a different puzzle that I could resize and color to fit and look reasonable, but this was back in the 1960s and my ability to such a thing was not as likely to succeed as it might now.
    Well done lady.
