Would you rather coffee or…

Would you rather cannonball into a cup of coffee or dive into a mug of hot chocolate? Before you answer you should know that the coffee is a rich brown liquid with a strong bitter scent that rises with the breaking of each boiling bubble. The lip of the coffee cup is flat and steady under your feet. While the hot chocolate is a creamy brown and the slight froth makes it difficult to determine exactly how hot the liquid is. The smell rising up on thin pillows of steam is sweet and delicious. The lip of the mug is curved and your toes and heels rock softly back and forth as you fight for balance. So, would you rather cannonball into a cup of coffee or dive into a mug of hot chocolate?

If we were having coffee I would explain that on Family Day the boys and I went to a restaurant for lunch and played a short game of “would you rather…” The coffee versus hot chocolate was one of the “would you rather” questions that I pitched to them except instead of dive I used the action of belly flopping.. It was a fun time! If we were having coffee I would smile because a great side bonus of Family Day is a short work week and that is always welcome.

If we were having coffee I would tell you that I have a puzzle craving lately. So, part of my weekend is going to involve putting together the new puzzle I got earlier this week. The puzzle is called “The Sadness of Gaia.” Do any of you use a puzzle table? So, with having to be able to show the house I can’t exactly leave a partially finished puzzle and a bunch of pieces all over the table. I am thinking I might try a puzzle table but I am not sure what the best option is. Can anybody recommend anything?

If we were having coffee I would ask if you have given any thought to April’s A to Z challenge for 2020? I know it is around the corner but I am not sure what I plan to do with it yet.

Well, if we were having coffee I wish you a wonderful weekend and take my leave.

  1. I am so familiar with the would you rather game….in this case I’ll choose chocolate since I just had coffee with one of my girlfriends.
We have a big puzzle in our break room at work, but I have to admit that I am not contributing so much. The puzzle is a beautiful view of the capital city of Sweden, Stockholm. I hope you are having a great weekend!

  2. Well. Tea was not an option, so I would explore the coffee with you. I’ll sip and you tell me what is so wonderful. Perhaps, I’ll taste it and learn more about the power of the sacred dark brew.

I think my grandmother used to have a puzzle storage thing made of 2 mildly stiff sheets of material. One you laid out flat and did the puzzle on it, but when you needed to reclaim the table, you put the second sheet down on top, covering the half finished puzzle, and rolled the two up. There must have been ties or bands that kept the roll from unrolling, but I don’t recall. I do recall thinking it was really clever. I’ll bet there is something newer and better available or, it might be fairly easy to make something. The sides facing the puzzle just need to be something like felt to hold the pieces from moving around much.

large sheets of stiff cardboard would also work, but you’d need someplace to store it unrolled and flat – which can be a pain if you’re trying to show a house.

    Good hunting and selling.
