Imaginative History

L image 2aDo you encourage your children to believe in mystery and magic? Perhaps you believe in it yourself.

I have a great love for doors that open to secret worlds and as such I try to encourage my boy’s imaginations to open up worlds of their own. Whether it’s dragons, fairies, unicorns, Santa or the Easter Bunny when I hear the question “Is it real?” I respond with a smile, “you tell me!”

“______ isn’t real mom.”
“You don’t think so? I believe, why don’t you?” Then I hope they implore me for a story or some small tidbit of imaginative history.

Such layers of meaning.
