Every part of me feels heavy, saddled with an aching tiredness. That rich aroma from my full-bodied coffee screams at me, but it feels as if I am moving through water in my attempt to navigate the battle field of my kitchen. It seems I will never reach the steaming mug on my Keurig. As I sloth forward I envision sweeping the mug away and ramming my head under the Keurig so I can skip the part where I have to bring the mug to my lips and actively drink the liquid. A straight shot from the Keurig down my throat seems more efficient. Lost in that dream I am suddenly shocked to find the mug in my hand and the scalding fluid flowing freely into my system, and then there is the bottom of my mug. I find it hard not to turn the mug over and around to find the hole that my coffee escaped out. I mean, where did it go? Surely there is a crack or something in this mug!
That is basically a summary of where I am at (Excuse me while I stifle a yawn). Okay, moving on. The half marathon training is going well. I have new shoes, blister free socks, and I am experimenting with energy snacks while I run. I ran 12.2 miles on Monday in 2 hours and 25 minutes. Not bad since I am sick and occasionally had to detour off the track to blow my nose. I hope to do a practice run of the full 13.1 miles later in the month. Interestingly I find that the running, the just getting out there, and the pushing through helps to shove the tiredness away.
Not much else to share. I am starting to think about my A to Z topic for April. It is hard to believe that January zipped past already! Anyway, how about you? What has been going on?
